     Pointless Dramas is a theatre company of four with an all female cast comprising of: Stephanie Dunne, Medina Aliyu and Sarah Kycz, with Hayden Turner as director.

We all currently reside in Bedford and attend the University Of Bedfordshire, where we have been creating work since September 2010 and formed Pointless Dramas (previously known as Phenomenon Theatre Company) in June 2012.

Our work is based around family values within an urban setting. We like to involve the audience throughout our performances by eliminating the forth wall and making the auditorium a part of the stage. The audience will become our extended family as they actively become a part of the show. We bring them out of their seats and join them in theirs.

​

Our set has a DIY aesthetic with self painted backdrops, cardboard box counter tops and all the set we can beg, steal or borrow. Our performances deal with ‘Pointless’ day-to-day dramas and situations that we explore through comedy, this allows us to fall into the sitcom genre.

​

Because of the nature of our piece we aim to take it around the UK in small spaces and intimate theatres developing it around the family experience. We seek to widen our work by exploring different families and cultures within UK so that we can appeal to a broader audience.
